What Is a CBD Tincture?
A CBD tincture is liquid hemp extract taken by the dropper, under the tongue or in a drink.

Is it the same as CBD oil? Traditional tinctures use alcohol, while most CBD oil tinctures today use a carrier oil. Ours use MCT oil, hemp seed oil, or water-soluble vegetable glycerin. See our full tincture guide.
How to Choose a CBD Oil Tincture
First, pick a spectrum. Full-spectrum keeps the hemp plant's cannabinoids and terpenes, including trace THC. Broad-spectrum keeps other cannabinoids but removes THC. CBD isolate is CBD alone.
Get drug tested? Start with THC-free options. Want the whole plant? Browse full-spectrum options.
Next, pick a base. Water-soluble CBD mixes into drinks and has been our top seller since 2016. Our CBD MCT oil sticks to two ingredients: hemp extract and fractionated coconut oil. Hemp seed oil is the third choice.
Last, check strength. Compare CBD per serving, not just the big number on the label. To get mg per mL, divide total mg by the bottle's mL.
How to Take Tincture Drops
Shake, fill the dropper to the label serving, hold it under your tongue for 30 to 60 seconds, then swallow.
Plan ahead: allow 5 to 10 minutes for water-soluble and 30 to 60 for oil-based.
