Read on for everything you need to know about incorporating CBD and CBN (cannabinol) capsules into your wellness routine.
Are CBD Capsules Any Good?
Ever heard the expression "What's your stack?" It's the trendy, new way to ask about someone's supplement routine. More than ever, people are interested in taking supplements, herbs, and CBD to promote overall health.
CBD capsules are similar to other supplements and medications you might take. They are typically taken orally and come in a capsule, just like a pill.
The process of extracting CBN, or cannabinol (a cannabinoid in our Sleep Stack), is similar to the CBD extraction process. CBD and CBN are extracted using a process called supercritical C02 extraction. It's a clean and efficient process that helps convert the plant product into a more edible item, such as powder or oil, for the finished product.
Despite being "refined", this process is actually quite natural and used across multiple industries to make products such as lavender oil and coffee. The CBD is then added in with other ingredients to help promote potential benefits. In the case of our Stacks, herbal blends and mushrooms are added in to synergistically promote the cooperation of all body systems.
Are CBD Capsules Or Tinctures Better?
CBD tinctures are probably the most popular method of taking CBD. Droppers are certainly a convenient and easy way to consume cannabinoids, however there might be a method that is even easier. This method still exposes you to the full spectrum of potential benefits, but instead of measuring a dropper, you can use an easy pre-measured dose.
We're talking about capsules — the catchy new way to take CBD. It's accurate and easy to incorporate into your daily routine. Both tinctures and capsules can be a great way to consume cannabinoids. It just depends on what works best for you individually!
Are CBD Capsules Safe With Other Medications?
The short answer is "it depends". Cannabis experts regard CBD and related cannabinoids as generally safe for healthy populations. However, like any drug or medication, consuming a new substance or taking multiple substances at one can increase the risk of an adverse reaction.
Here are a few tips for safely consuming CBD or CBN:
- For beginners and first timers- First-time CBD users should take CBD at the beginning of the day as to avoid an adverse reaction while sleeping. While rare, adverse reactions can be possible.
- For long-term consumers- Whenever prescribed new medications or entering a new life phase (i.e. pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging), be sure to consult a healthcare professional. Disclose any herbs, functional mushroom foods, or CBD products you take (just in case).
- For special populations- Understand that CBD is not intended to diagnose or treat any particular conditions. Mixing unfamiliar medications with unfamiliar substances or dietary supplements can have dangerous effects. For example, it could lower your body's ability to fight off infections.
CBD Capsules For Relaxation
CBD may not be definitively linked to breakouts, rashes, or under-eye circles, but stress and anxiety certainly are. Did you know that stress actually starts on the cellular level?
When the body experiences stress in the form of pollutants, toxins, trauma, irritants, and more, it is called oxidative stress. This can lead to cell damage and over time, it can lead to more long-term health issues and serious conditions.
Luckily, CBD has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may be able to protect against oxidative stress and its consequences.
Can CBD Capsules Make You Tired?
Some people find using CBD or CBN promotes better sleep. Cannabinoid consumption supports the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS helps to balance the body, providing support for a good night's sleep.
Can I Take CBD Capsules At Night?
Taking CBD or CBN, such as that found in the Sleep Stack capsule, may be taken at night to help support healthy sleep. Like CBD, studies on CBN are currently being conducted.
This means we are learning more about CBN everyday! So far, researchers have found that CBN may support sleep without being a sedative. It is thought that consumption of about 2.5 mg to 5 mg of CBN has the same level of effect that a mild pharmaceutical sedative does.
Most available studies report that CBN is a sedative only when combined with THC. As mentioned above, further research is needed to really understand the full "entourage effect" of these cannabinoids and compounds together.
How Does CBD Affect The Immune System
As mentioned above, cannabinoids support our body's endocannabinoid system, also known as the ECS. The ECS helps to balance the body. Part of the support that the ECS lends to our overall health may include support to your immunity.
The potential benefits to boost your immune system may come from a full spectrum product, which like its name suggests, offers a full spectrum of potential benefits to immune cells. Different cannabinoids have different components (like terpenes and flavonoids) which means they may create a more powerful effect over time than, say, a broad spectrum CBD or CBD isolate product.
Every individual has their own unique balance, which is why these CBD pills are great taken together as a trio, or apart as full spectrum CBD (or CBN) solutions on their own.
