National Cleanse Your Skin Week: Add CBD to Your Skincare Routine

National Cleanse Your Skin Week was added to the National Day Calendar in 2016 by the makers of CeraVe® in order to promote skincare education and encourage people to make better choices regarding the products they put on their skin.

National Cleanse Your Skin Week was added to the National Day Calendar in 2016 by the makers of CeraVe® in order to promote skincare education and encourage people to make better choices regarding the products they put on their skin.

We wholeheartedly agree with promoting products and practices that are designed to improve people’s health and wellbeing. The skin is an organ, just like your heart or your lungs. So what we put on our skin should be considered just as carefully as what we put in our bodies.

CBD for Skincare

Although many of our CBD products are designed to be ingested, we’ve created a unique line of topical products to stimulate and balance the endocannabinoid system on skin and surface areas of the body as well. In this article, we’ll discuss how to seamlessly include some of these products in your daily skincare routine.

Full-Spectrum CBDA Body Cream

Our Full-Spectrum CBDA Body Cream has a 4:1 CBDA to CBD ratio, meaning you get the unique benefits of CBD and CBDA, along with the subtle benefits of secondary cannabinoids present in full-spectrum products.

We also include a variety of popular skincare ingredients, such as aloe vera and cocoa butter, which are designed to deposit and lock in moisture. For a full list of ingredients, check out the CBDA Body Cream product page.

Full-Spectrum CBD Body Cream

Our Full-Spectrum CBD Body Cream is formulated similarly to our CBDA body cream. The difference is in the concentration and presence of CBDA. In our CBDA body cream, the CBDA is the main player while CBD plays a supporting role. However, our CBD body cream features CBD front and center.

What’s the Difference Between CBDA and CBD?

We will go over the answer to this question in a future post, but the short answer is that CBDA is the raw form or precursor to CBD. It’s the thing that turns into CBD as the hemp plant grows and gets exposed to elements like sunlight.

So what does this mean? Without going into too much science (which we will totally get into in another post), CBDA and CBD interact with the endocannabinoid system differently. This will result in similar, yet different benefits to those you would experience with just CBD. What those benefits are depends largely on your body, your endocannabinoid system, and what you need in order to maintain a state of balance.

Including CBD in Your Skincare Routine

If you already have a routine you love, that's great! Simply include one of our body creams as your moisturizer. Its natural ingredients like aloe vera and cocoa butter will lock in moisture while its high concentration of full-spectrum CBDA and CBD will help provide balance and unique benefits to your skin's microbiome.

If you don’t have a skincare routine now's the time to start! A lot of people become frustrated with their skin during this time of year, the first week of August being one of the hottest weeks of the summer.

With any new practice, it’s best to start small and improve. Here’s what a basic skincare routine might look like for you:

Step One: Cleanse your skin using a cleanser designed to promote healthy skin.

Step Two: Apply a toner to refresh your skin and prepare it to take in moisture.

Step Three: Apply our Full-Spectrum CBDA or CBD Body Cream as a moisturizer (or any other quality product designed to moisturize and nourish your skin).

Consider applying these steps nightly or every other day depending on your skin type. Soon you (and others) should start to notice cleaner, healthier, happier skin.

Conclusion

Skincare is a lot like dental care. You may not think you need to worry about it now, but daily maintenance and awareness of the chemicals that go on your skin will help prevent future problems and proactively counter the natural effects of aging. Browse our selection of full-spectrum topical products and let us know if you have any questions! We’re always happy to help.
