The Benefits of Flavored Tinctures
Adding flavor to tinctures does more than just make them more fun to consume. Like aromatherapy scents, adding flavors to tinctures can engage the scenes in an enlightening way. They have the potential to influence how your body feels and may contribute to an overall improvement in wellness.
Research shows that smell and taste can be closely tied to memory. The experience of taking cannabidiol (CBD) can be enhanced when one takes flavored tinctures.
Orange and mint, for example, are thought to awaken and engage the senses to promote an increased sense of awareness. For this reason, flavors are often used in items like toothpaste, chewing gum, and refreshing beverages to make them more pleasant.
Flavored For Great Taste
Hemp-derived CBD has a nutty, natural taste to it. Many people don’t mind it, but others have a problem with the aftertaste.
Luckily, when flavors are added to tinctures, it helps to mask the hempy taste. For our new tinctures, we carefully selected two delicious flavors that help to elevate the powerful properties of cannabinoids.
Orange is so much more than just another citrus fruit. Along with CBD, orange flavor may help to balance mental health and introduces some freshness into your day.
Water soluble, orange flavored tinctures are perfect for mixing with morning smoothies, or even great for flavoring beverages on their own! You can also add orange CBD oil to salad dressings, cold salads, parfaits, or anything else that would benefit from a zesty bit of flavor.
Mint may be notorious as a flavoring component, but the potential benefits extend far beyond fresh breath. Known for bringing a sense of alertness and awareness, mint flavor is known for its cooling sensation. Beyond that, studies suggest that peppermint oil may improve digestive symptoms like stomach pain, indigestion, and nausea.
Another perk of mint flavor is that it can often replace other toppings or garnishes that aren’t so healthy. Many people consume copious amounts of salt and use sugar-laden sauces to add flavor. Instead, try using our mint flavored water soluble or MCT on just about anything, including:
- Fruit salads
How To Use CBD Flavor Tinctures
Flavored tinctures are pretty easy to use once you understand the features of a tincture. Tinctures are unique in that they use a dropper to dispense the CBD oil.
A couple tips for beginners, or if it is your first time trying flavored tinctures:
- A full dropper actually appears to be only ¾ of the way full. This is because a small pocket of pressure is needed to make the dropper mechanism work properly
- Half a dropper is usually a good starting dosage for beginners, or if you are trying out a new flavor. One full dropper is generally 1 milliliter. This can be too much for some people, so it is important to tailor the amount of CBD you take to your needs.
- The spout is where the tincture is dispensed. Hold it right above the beverage or item you are hoping to add it to — or dispense it straight into your mouth! Just remember to keep the dropper clean so that when it is inserted back into the bottle, the CBD oil will be able to preserve its quality and flavor.
To preserve the quality of your tincture, store it at room temperature and away from direct sunlight. This ensures that your tincture stays at the highest quality possible during your use of the product.
Another thing to take note of is that while CBD oil can be added to hot drinks or foods, some of the potential benefits might be lost. Heat denatures some of the proteins
A Final Word On Flavored Tinctures
Flavored tinctures are a great (and great-tasting) way to incorporate CBD into your day. Mix it into meals or beverages easily and use it in creative ways to elevate a flavor profile. Finally, a tincture that tastes terrific on its own!!
